I just opened a store on Etsy called Dolls and Monsters! It’s so exciting. As many of you have witnessed, I started making dolls about six months ago. I have been making them for fun and giving them away. Having given dolls and monsters to most of the children of my family and friends, and still wanting to make more, I needed an outlet!
When I was in Catholic school in 2nd grade, there were nuns who used to take in old discarded and damaged dolls and fix them up. I thought it was miraculous. Who knew that one day I would make dolls. As a child I loved dolls. Starting with Raggedy Ann and Barbie, my favorites were baby dolls (Kerrie and Karen) that I carried with me everywhere and played with until I was almost 13.
Today, I love making things and it thrills me to imagine a little girl with one of my handmade dolls. Or a boy with one of my monsters. Or a girl with one of my monsters. Or anybody with any of my creations!
Right now, I am just getting started so I have only a few items. I plan to add more as I go along. I also plan to add other things like baby blankets and quilts. If you have a chance, please stop by! Thanks!
