I am deeply motivated by color. I remember as a child reorganizing the crayons in my box in the color order I thought best: yellow, orange, red, green, blue, purple, brown and black. That deeply made sense to me. Still does! I know, I’m obsessed.
I have a very cool cookbook called Apples for Jam by Tessa Kiros. I had it a few years before I ever cooked from it. I looked at it and loved it though. It’s a beautiful book and has brought me much happiness on the visuals alone.
Besides having great photographs it has great recipes! I made a delicious Hungarian ghoulash and some orange tomato chicken.
What stands out about this book is that it is organized by color. There is actually a table of contents with red, green, orange, etc. Because it was fall I turned to the orange chapter. And there they were, perfect fall recipes!

Cooking by Colour. Beautiful. I’m definitely picking this up next time I’m at a bookstore 🙂
