This is part of a memoir series on my friendship with Renee who I met in college and focuses mainly on our escapades during our late teens and early twenties.
One of the things Renee and I most liked to do was hang out on the beach. There was no one other than Renee that liked it as much as I did. We would get to the beach early in the morning and stay until dark. We never wanted to leave! Eating, swimming, tanning, talking. Always talking. Listening to music, dancing and singing!
Our favorite beach song was Borderline by Madonna. This was the 80s, people. We would get up, each have our sun tan lotion microphones and belt it out. Oh, youth! Borderline came out in February 1984. Renee and I were juniors in college.
In case you need to hear the memory, just listen.
-40 wind chills here. This post brings back a lot of great memories of the 80s and the sun!!!
Stay warm! That’s awful. Happy to send my warm memories during this very cold spell. 🙂
While reading your post I have a huge smile on my face because I so identify with you here. Oh how wonderful it is to be so carefree and young. Those were the days! LOL! http://lovelyseasonscomeandgo.wordpress.com
Glad to make you smile. Yes, memories are wonderful and I have lots of good ones. I enjoyed my youth!
