If you’ve been following any of my natural black hair posts, you might think this post is about hair. You know, how black hair curls up and “shrinks” looking shorter than it is. But no, this post has nothing to do with hair.
When I was editing my latest poetry book, Dessert Haiku, I ordered a proof and when it arrived, I noticed that the font was tiny. I told my husband and said I didn’t know what happened, I had it in 12 font, which is pretty big. He said, “Did you format the page for 6×9 like your book?” There’s the ticket! Nope, it was formatted for 8×11! So the book and font shrunk down. The things to remember! Geesh! Thank goodness for proofs.
