This is part of a memoir series on my friendship with Renee who I met in college and focuses mainly on our escapades during our late teens and early twenties.
After college Renee and I took a beach trip to some coastal town in Maine. We stayed at a rooming house that was filled with lots of old ladies. They would sit on rockers on the big wrap around porch through out the day. Renee spent her days playing tennis and I joined the local library where I took out books and read on the porch, on the beach and in my room. We each had a single room. The windows had sheer white curtains. It was one of the most peaceful trips I remember. Renee met a family through tennis and they invited us over for a spaghetti dinner. We also ate lobster and had ice cream every night.
