Let’s face it folks, sometimes simple is best. When it comes to baking these are my favorites to bake. These are old fashioned basics. I’m all into simplicity these days and having just a few favorites. Why make a fancy cream of apricot tart that my husband and son won’t touch. They like simple. I will make simple. Next I need to make sure I have the best recipe possible for these old timey favorites. Then I will bake them again and again, from my stock of treasured recipes.

You can’t beat apple pie with a little ice cream…though, sadly, I too will have to take a break from sweets for a while after this delicious weekend.
